The other day on my 50th birthday I committed to a sugar free diet challenge for 3 months with plans to review and possibly continue for another 3 months or up to, well the rest of my life really.
It’s going ok. I’m not struggling too much. However, there was that belated somewhat of a surprise birthday party that happened 5 days into the no sugar malarkey 🤦🏾♂️. I’m pretty sure it was sugar free cake. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
One week later and it’s still on. We don’t call it a challenge for nothing.
Good thing my lady helps out in every way she can. So no real temptations. If I should ever slip, it’s all her fault. 👀
I do feel a lot better though. So far there’s one massive benefit for me and I think one for wifey.
For me, I don’t wake up ten times at night just to go pee, and when I do wake up with the sun 🌞, I can go back to sleep if I want to. No pee in sight. Result 🤙🏾. Normally with me being a night owl going to bed at 2am most mornings, 4 o’clock is Pee o’clock.
For her, I don’t snore as much if at all most nights. That’s definitely for her because hey, when I’m asleep it’s not my problem. I really hope she doesn’t read this and get any ideas while I’m asleep and smother me.
Oh yeah, what I said before about it being somewhat of a surprise birthday party, I figured it out because I had so many different chores to do and decorating and shopping and picking up extra food for just a regular old Sunday afternoon.
But I was so surprised though. 👀 had no idea. 😉
I have the best people. ❤️
I’m interested to hear from anyone who’s tried to get off sugar, how did it go for you? How’s it going? Or when do you start?
The way I’m doing it isn’t too over the top I think. Pretty simple. Just no sugary drinks or food. Biscuits are out and buns etc.
Just the obvious stuff, in a few months maybe start looking at the less obvious stuff.
Mainly, I don’t over complicate it.
Respek 👊🏾
